How To Get Noticed On deviantART V1.5
The tips that really work...
Thank you for all the help:
Wanna read V1.0? Click here.
So, you want to get noticed on deviantART? Then this is the right place to be! V1.5 includes the basic factors of getting noticed and getting popular, in slightly more depth and with more elements than in V1.0. So, get out your note pad and pen, you'll need to take notes...
Self Promotion
Idea from seapuppy
Self promotion? Some of you may be thinking I'm crazy, that that's just being shallow...but the truth is, if you go about it the right way, self promotion can boost the amount of notice you receive without harming any one.
For example, someone gives you a favourite; go and thank them! You don't have to go all out, with a page long comment; a short and sweet comment on their profile page (perhaps adding some emoticons from the emoticon legand) will work wonders. Remember to include the name of the deviation and even a link directly to it. (Don't know how to link? Visit Pimp-Out) There's nothing wrong with self promotion, just do it the correct way (instead of spamming everyone you come across. How annoying is that? Seriously? And chances are, you'll get bannned for spamming. ).
Constructive Criticism
Idea from seapuppy
Lets be honest here, how many of you are guilty of leaving small comments that in honest of fact mean very little? You know what I mean, "Great job " or "I like it! " or perhaps simply "Cute!". We all know we're guilty. Now let me ask you this, when you log into deviantART, and check your message centre, what would you prefer to have recieved, a short comment that tells you nothing about your work, or a comment explaining the pros, cons and what you could do better? Now, I'm not saying that you need to post a critique every time you want to comment, far from it.

Great Work
Adapted from V1.0Watchers
Watchers are key. They support you all the way, what's the point of deviantART at all, if it wasn't for watchers? You must be thinking, where is this going? Well, as I write this, I am asking myself the exact same question, but deep down, we all know the answer. Now I am not going to go into a even more in depth rant than is necessary, but I'll tell you this: watchers help you, appreciate and support you; don't neglect them. Every now and again, make sure you let your watchers know how much they mean to you. Whether you let them know personally by dropping them a comment, or you post a journal about it, or even dedicate some of your work to your watchers, let them know you appreciate them. Appreciation will get you far, your watchers are bound to respect you more. BAM! Instant success.
Key Word
Key words are always important, it's the key words that get you noticed. Be sure to list as many key words as possible on your deviations (making sure that they are all relevant and relate to your deviation of course). The more key words you have, the more likely someone is bound to come across your deviations and journals.
Journals - Because We All Like A Read
Journals are one of the biggest sources of page views and popularity. Relevant journals, I mean, not ones that discuss what you had for lunch today, or how boring your Maths class was.
You need to post interesting journals, ones you know will get people talking. How does this help? People who might not watch you for your work, because they perhaps don't like your style or work or are interested in a whole other category, will come knocking at your door (metaphor! ) to read your journals. This instantly rewards you with page views, and, whilst they're there, they might as well check out your art/ writing, right? Correct! That's all for now, look out for V2.0! Ideas are welcome, credit shall be given also!
Any questions? Don't be hesitant to ask. Thanks for listening!

How to get more watchers
Here are different things that can be done to get more watchers. Note that some of these may not work for everyone.
Join groups. Submitting your art into a group will make more people see it.
Watch more people. Sometimes whensomeone gets a watch they will look at the page of whoever gave it to them. (or at least I do that)
Draw fanart. Showing off your skills by drawing fanart may make whoever your drawing fanart see your talent. They may watch you after that.
Be nice to everyone. Sometimes to get a new watcher, you have to get a new freind. Honestly I try to be nice and freidly to everyone (except trolls) weather they watch me or not, bu

Writing Tutorial: Dialogue
"An Amateur-Editor's Note on How to Paragraph Dialogue, and Other Dialogue-Related Crime Avoidance Techniques" by Dailenna
On my daily walk about the internet I often come across some horrible piece of writing at which I'm forced to stop reading and take a few deep breaths to calm myself before either sending a note to the writer, or fleeing in terror. These pieces of writing are usually just an accumulation of terrible spelling, grammar, syntax, and too much or too little plot, description, dialogue or action. Yes, there are stories that may have a lean towards dialogue or action and still look absolutely wonderful – in fact, these are the
