How long has it been? Honestly, I'm not sure I want to know the answer. Sweating a little...

My life has been growing more hectic with each, I hesitate to say, day recently. It deeply saddens me that I'm not as active as I want to be here any more. The Internet has certainly taken the back seat in my life nowadays. It's rare that I ever even open my laptop for something other than homework and coursework. CURSE YOU!

In terms of art, things have certainly differed since I last showed my face here as a deviant. I'm taking Art and Design at GCSE so I've ventured on from purely digital art and pencil drawings. That's right, I started getting a little adventurous in my old age. I've finally, after years of deliberating it, picked up the paint brush and veered off into the world of inks and acrylic paints. That said, I'm ambling around in the beginner stage and can't really see a way out of it. Nevertheless, it's a start - right? What might come as more of a surprise to you that know me best here is that I also started usually chalk and charcoal. I hate it. The texture is...disturbing. Thankfully, I wasn't totally frigid in using it and managed to con myself an A* on my first charcoal/chalk drawing. Heaven knows how.

I've recently picked up coding again after almost, I suspect, a year of doing anything serious. Mainly for my IT coursework, yes, but I had forgotten the enjoyment of doing so. Of course, that also means that I had forgotten how time consuming it was also.

Pixel art is, I fear, almost a forgotten skill for me. I simply cannot remember the last time I sat down to do any sort of pixel art or emoticon related work. It's quite terrible, I know. Nuu

Writing is probably the only creative process - other than traditional art - that I have been actively participating in as of recent. I'm working on a new novel and am nearing the end of my first draft. As well as hopelessly trying to find the time to finish it off, I've developed a new love for spoken word poetry. As many of you may know, I have no knack for poetry so right now it is more something I enjoy listening to than I enjoy writing although I endeavour to delve into the world of composing it soon. Wish me luck.:eager: by darkmoon3636

My Facebook page is displaying quite a lot of my photography and graphic design so if you want to follow my adventures in the pair, check it out here.

What's more is that I've picked up blogging again and have some pretty neat stuff lined up in the future. As soon as I've organised them, you'll be seeing all this new and improved material up there - and it is great, even if I say so myself. As soon as it's all organised, I'll let you guys know. If you want to show your support in the meantime, you should now the URL off by heart by now;) but in case you don't, click here!

I think that's all for now guys. I've missed the community here so much so if you have anything you'd like to share with me, I'll be more than happy to have a look. And if you just want to say hi, you know where the comment section is!

My Goals and Achievements

Progress as an Artist
To me constructive criticism is key for any artist. In order for me to grow as an artist and a writer, I need all the help I can get from my fellow devious minds. :huggle:

Make An Impact
Perhaps one of my biggest goals online and offline is to make an impact. Whether it be within my local community, in the deviantART community, within my school or perhaps even within my country. I feel it's important to make a change and give back to those who have helped me along the way. :aww:

Artistically, I personally appreciate feedback more than anything and I rarely get it. I've come to the conclusion that this is because in order to get, you must give. Although I give critiques from time to time, I don't give them often enough. Therefore, I have devised a plan where I shall write 100 critiques (using the critique feature and the comment feature) by the end of 2012. To read the list, click here.

I want to start giving back to the community. In order to do this, I'm going to give gifts to as many people as possible by the end of the year. This could just be a cake badge, a drawing or maybe a subscription - whatever I can do at that moment.
To read the list, see here.
